Race preparation and performance analysis for boat owners and coaches.
I’m Graham Eger. I race sailboats and build tools to understand them. Upwelling brings that work together: sharing ways for boat owners to prepare and improve, and for coaches to make use of the fleet data they already have.
The work starts with your sailing.
For a boat owner, that might be a post-race debrief, a closer look at boat performance, or preparation for an offshore race. For a coach, it might be comparing boats across a session and finding the moments worth bringing into the next debrief.
Tracks, instrument data and video can each tell part of the story. We begin with your questions and the material available, then discuss whether it makes sense to work together. Work on polars starts with checking whether the data and calibration support a useful result.
I’m developing this work through ongoing relationships with owners and coaches. The software grows from that work and the questions that come back from the water.

The research on Mackinac, Hawaii and Bermuda shows how I approach a sailing question: compare the tracks and weather, check the assumptions, and make the evidence available for other sailors to examine.

Upwelling is the home of this work. WX Navigator is the offshore routing product: a way to explore forecasts, compare routes and prepare a passage.
The free public sections serve different purposes. RegattaPages holds event pages and results published here by organisers. Saildex collects imported results and race history from third-party sources. Those names describe parts of Upwelling, with one shared account.
